New Shooter Report

Took another coworker out to the range. Hunter, but a fudd. Hasn't shot the fun stuff before. We took 2 of my battle rifles, my Jim Doyle commemorative edition USP9C, my shotgun, and a .22.

He liked the battle rifles (my brother liked the lower caliber rifle especially), and LOVED the USP9C. Before we'd even left, he'd said he wanted to go again and get a couple more boxes of 9mm to shoot (I only brought 50rds).

5 rounds of 12ga went through the shotgun. Accurate and destructive. We hit the shotgun range last and spent most of the time firing with the stock folded. Again, I find this to be a devasting close range weapon. Were I to ever be tasked with clearing a building, I'd open the gun up to the biggest setting, put it a high-cap magazine of #4, and not even bother about the action battering itself to an early death. This IS the ultimate close quarters weapon.

As is my requirement, my coworker talked up his range trip with other coworkers, and now one of my bosses, a soldier in the Coast Guard, wants to go too.

That's four people introduced to civilian ownership of military firearms, and everyone I've taken has been asking me to take them out again. I need to start getting pictures.

I win. America wins. Freedom wins. Liberalism loses.
