Yeah, that's right. Bush drove his party into the ditch. Turned the 06 elections into a referendum on Iraq pretty much.
Socialists control the House, Senate, and most states by a narrow margin.
I vote straight Republican. Voted Yes on the marriage amendment, because like the Democrats, I don't want one more group squeezing me for money now or in the future. Voted no on the death penalty because I don't believe that a state that denies me the right to defend myself outside my home has any right killing anyone. H*ll, they can't even pave the roads right.
DP and marriage passed, by large margins. There's a nugget of hope in there - people who voted for liberals have conservative tendencies. That strikes me as a good thing.
Back on the national front...Speaker Of The House Nancy Pelosi...*shudders*
