Went to go see this the very first night it was out.
Solid 7.5 out of 10, but the trailer for Watchmen beforehand was even better. Not a slam against the movie, but the Watchmen trailer was fantastic.
Mark Walhberg did a decent job as Max, Mila Kunis did passing quality as Mona Sax, but she had very little to do. The script was a hackjob compilation of Max Payne 1 and 2. Lots of stuff that wasn't in either game, and poorly tied off plot points from both.
The first 2/3s is really a mess. Disjointed, disconnected, doesn't really make sense. The last third is awesome. The movie is way, way better when he's on drugs. Everything after he pulls himself out of the river is epic. Beautiful. One long hero moment.
