Need a villain? How about an offshoot Christian group with conservative fundamentals. I don't watch this show regularly but I've seen bits and pieces, and I swear, there are more violent Christian denominations than there are liberal academics.
Do they feel compelled to put this plotline in every bloody episode? Need a sympathy angle, give 'em dozens of kids. Need a reason to hate 'em, make their wives browbeaten, make 'em pedophiles who want "pure" bloodlines.
And don't even get me started on the anti-gun angle, for which they have an actual Honest-To-Goodness handbook, which a few minutes on The High Road will reveal for you.
Ye Gods...who writes this dreck, and who in their right mind watches it for entertainment.
